How it works
The Trail Taxi is your MTB Shuttle company to take you to the top of the finest trails the Swiss Valais region. We offer Mixed Group and Private shuttle days around Martigny/Verbier, Visp and Brig.
Our days are self guided, with GPS provided or on request with a qualified Swiss Cycling guide.

Private Shuttles
If you want to ride with your friends only, the Private Shuttle day is the way to go. We run our days with a minimum 4 and maximum 8 riders per van. Have a bigger group? We have a second van!
You can book a private shuttle at any of our standard destinations, we have a set trail menu but are happy to adjust to your wishes in advance. Drop us a message with your wishes.
At the time of booking, we request a 200CHF deposit. The remaining amount is to be paid on the day with Twint, Card or Cash.
Mixed Group Shuttles
Mixed Group days are perfect if you want to meet new people or don't have a group big enough to do a private shuttle. These days are treated like an event, where you buy your ticket online in advance. You pay the full amount online in advance.
There are up to 8 spots available, and we need at least 4 riders to make a day work. Trail selection is Intermediate to Advanced (S2/S3) riding level and determined by Trail Taxi to provide the best mix of trails and smooth logistics.

GPS Navigation

Most of our days are self guided with GPS provided. How does that work? 2-3 days before your shuttle day, we will create a Whatsapp group chat where we will share a briefing on where, when, what and how. This will also include the Trail Menu for the day with the links to the GPS details.

In the Trail Menu the links will take you to the Swiss Topo App (free!) where you can see which route to ride on your phone. Of course you can also export these files and load them onto your GPS device if you prefer, and navigate using your Garmin, Hammerhead or Wahoo.
Once you reach the end of the route, the Trail Taxi van is waiting for you and we head off to the next trail.
Frequently Asked Questions
E-Bikes / DH bikes

Yes, we do take E-bikes on the Trail Taxi. If you ride an E-bike please let us know when booking!
We do not take DH bikes on our shuttles. This is not the right tool for an enduro shuttle day.
Other bikes like kids bikes, gravel bikes or touring bikes are allowed, but inform us when booking please.
Riding Level

Trail Taxi days are not suited for beginners. We ride on natural hiking trails and can include some exposure, rocky and rooty sections and tight corners. On the MTB Scale they are classified as S2 / S3 and S4 trails. Have a look here for more detail: https://www.komoot.com/help/mtb-scale
How to find the way

GPX files and modern technology do a great job in showing the way these days. If you don't know what a GPX file is or never navigated with a map before we strongly suggest to request a guide.
Cancelling by us
It is rare, but in the case we need to cancel the shuttle day we will reach out to you by phone. Of course you will receive a full refund, or you can reschedule to a day in the future.

Cancelling by you

Up until 72 hours to the start of your shuttle day you are free to cancel and will receive a 100% refund. If you cancel closer than 72 hours to the shuttle day, we can only refund you 50% of the amount paid.
Bad weather
We always keep an eye on the forecast and 72 hours before the weekend we make a final decision based on the Meteo Suisse and YR.no weather apps.
If there are some small showers predicted, we will ride as generally speaking we can avoid the showers by smart trail choices.
If a full day of rain is forecasted for the weekend we will cancel the day and provide a full refund.
